Adeboye urges people to trust God for solutions to whatever challenges
General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has advised people to trust God for solutions to whatever
challenges they are faced with, saying “God cannot fail; He can use anybody and any method to help you”.
Adeboye gave the advice at the 2017 Holy Ghost Convocation of the North America’s Region of RCCG in New York in a message entitled ‘The God of Surprises’ on Tuesday night.
He said that God loves to spring a surprise, stressing that while some people will experience “pleasant surprises”, there are those whose surprises would be “unpleasant”.
According to him, those who are Godly and fear God will have pleasant surprises but warned that the “wicked who have no regards for God” will have unpleasant surprises.
“No prophecy can change the Word of God. Surprises can be good or bad. Those who have been committing fraud and living ungodly lives must surrender to God.
“So you have a choice to make. God is a God of surprises and you can have a pleasant one or otherwise. The choice is yours,” he said.
Adeboye gave account of several people in the Bible who were surprised either by the blessings of God or by the punishment meted out to them for their wickedness.
“In Daniel Chapter 4, King Nebuchadnezzar had surprises. One was pleasant and the other was not pleasant.
“For a king (Nebuchadnezzar) to sleep a king but became an animal the following morning is an unpleasant surprise.
“But after seven years when he came to his senses and knew there was King of kings and surrendered, his kingdom was returned to him; that was a pleasant surprise.”
Adeboye restated his prophecy that both the oppressed and the oppressors would be “surprised” this year.
The cleric had said at the Church’s crossover service from 2016 to 2017 among other things that “2017 would be a year of surprises for both the oppressed and the oppressor”.
The event, which lasted till about midnight, was attended by thousands of worshippers from Canada, Mexico and across the US.
