The Spiritual Head and Chairman of Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Most Reverend Samuel Abidoye, has condemned herdsmen’s wanton killing of people.
The C&S leader stated this in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Saturday at a press conference he addressed as part of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the church.
He said, “The destruction caused by herdsmen has become a big issue. They are even worse than Boko Haram. This is a dangerous thing and we must act quickly to stop it. Destruction of farms and killing of people will discourage many from going into agriculture and without food, there is a big problem.
“It is something very serious but luckily, our president, Muhammadu Buhari, is a Fulani man. He understands their language. He should talk to them. We should go to Australia and study the way they raise animals there without destroying farms. It is a serious issue and we must act fast on it.”
Abidoye also noted that preaching prosperity in churches fuelled corruption and violent crimes in the country.
