PFN does not hate Buhari – Okah
The Vice-President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), South-south, Bishop Simeon Okah, on Sunday, said some harsh criticisms of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government by the body were not as a result of
hatred for Mr President but were meant to spur him to succeed as Nigerians expect him to deliver on his campaign promises.
Bishop Okah stated this on Sunday during a prayer session for President Buhari at the closing ceremony of the 2017 International Men Convention of the Flock of Christ Mission attended by the Delta State governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom at Enerhen in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.
He stated that Christian leaders in the country would not be silent when the All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government is going wrong, stressing that the body was against the administration of Buhari as they pray for him every time to surmount myriad of challenges confronting the country.
Okah advised governors in the country especially those from the South-South region to forget their second term bid if they fail to perform as Christian leaders will make such ambition difficult for failing to deliver on their campaign promises.
The cleric, who is also the founder of the Flock of Christ Mission, added, “Corruption didn’t start today. Prosecution has not solved why people steal. I am proposing to the FG to call those who have stolen our common wealth to return such money and a little percentage to live with and their names publish and barred from running for any political position or being appointed.
“We don’t hate Buhari. We only hate what he is doing. Our criticism is out of patriotism for a better Nigeria and from the fact that we want him to succeed and we are praying he succeeds. People are misconstruing our criticism for hatred but that is far from the truth.”
