Cleric advises Nigerians to trust in God as solution to hardship

Rev. Fr. Ben Onyemechalu, Associate Priest, SS Peter and Paul, Catholic Church, Nyanya has called on Nigerians to trust in God for the country to overcome its socio-political, economic and spiritual challenges.

Onyemechalu made the call on Sunday during mass in Nyanya, an outskirt in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to him, God can never forget his people, especially with the current hardship facing the country.

Onyemechalu told the congregation that God ‘’can never abandon people that trust in him, assuring them that “our father in heaven has the power to do all things’’.

“God is incapable of forgetting us; he will not abandon us because it is a promise He made that will surely be fulfilled.

“Things might be bad, but it will all come to pass if we believe in God.

“We must have this faith that every situation is temporary and it will come and go, but God is permanently concerned for the affairs of His people.”

He further urged the congregation to live a holy life, stressing that it was the only righteousness that could exalt a nation.

The cleric, who said that no situation that could not be salvaged by God, called on Christians to unite in prayers to overcome the current challenges.

“He is a loving father who holds the whole world in his hands; he will certainly care for us.

“If what we place first in our lives is God’s kingdom and his justice, we will have what we need’’.
