Maryland Church Stabbing Leaves Man Dead, Wife Injured


A man was killed and his wife seriously injured in a stabbing at a church a retreat center in Frederick, Maryland. The stabbing occurred during a prayer service at the Anna Prayer Counseling and Retreat Center on Sunday night (July 26). 
 
The Washington Post reports suspect Song Su Kim was taken into custody, but officials said they were unsure of a motive. 
 
The church and retreat center has a housing component where Kim had been living for about five day, reports The Post. He had been complaining about food at the establishment.
 
Police said the scene was “gruesome” and “bloody” when they arrived. 
 
The female victim was reportedly flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for emergency surgery. Her condition was reported as serious but stable.
