Christian Singer Jamie Grace's Home Church Robbed Twice in One Week
Christian singer Jamie Grace(R) is pictured with her father Bishop James Harper (L) who leads the Kingdom City Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
The church founded by Grammy nominated Christian singer Jamie Grace was robbed for the second time in a week.
On Feb. 26, members of Kingdom City Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia, discovered that thieves had stolen speakers and a projector. The incident also resulted in a broken door and a disheveled office and children's area.
Just five days earlier on Feb. 21, criminals had broken into the church and made off with $30,000 worth of merchandise.
"They took soundboards, a projection screen that they took from the roof, a keyboard was stolen, they stole from the children's room where there was a 32-inch TV, all the microphones, basically anything of value they took,"church member Christopher Isle.
The church was founded by pastors James and Mona Harper, the parents of 25-year-old gospel singer Grace. While the first robbery caused the church leaders to take precautions by boarding up their windows and removing expensive equipment, that didn't stop people from breaking in twice within a one week time period.
"It's a tragedy that while you're at rest and at ease thinking you have everything secured that there are people watching your every step and move to make their plan of attack when you're at your most vulnerable moment," Bishop James Harper.
Even with a lack of equipment the church continued to hold their normal services.
"We didn't have any microphones or any music but we prayed and sang together and it was pure,"
The pastors' famous daughter Grace took to Facebook after the robbery last week to let the criminal responsible know that she forgave them.
"... So to whoever did this ... I am sorry for the brokenness in your life that drove you to hurt us and I forgive you for the hurt you've caused," the singer and YouTube personality wrote. "But above all I want you know - we will recover."
